Services for Adults

All adults face stress, anxiety, and emotional difficulty. At times this is because of what happens in relationships, or because of the ways we can feel about ourselves and/or, because of highly stressful circumstances and/or traumatic events.

For some people, these issues become debilitating, restricting, or overwhelming.

Psychological support provides:

A place to unload and make sense of your experiences

Support in managing the weight of stress, anxiety, or mental health

Ways to boost your self-esteem and understand yourself better

Adult psychotherapy is offered in individual and group formats at Lifespan.

Individual therapy is a private space to explore oneself, to face and manage the problems of life, and to grow in the presence of another person.

Emotional isolation forms a backdrop to many of the problems adults face in Australia. Groups can provide a source of support and community, a chance to learn from others who’ve walked similar paths, a space to try out new ways of interacting, and a connection that helps combat the “I’m the only one” feeling that people secretly experience.

Groups are also a lower cost option for those who wish to begin a psychotherapy journey but may not have the resources to pursue this in a one-to-one treatment.

Lifespan acknowledges all First Peoples of this land and celebrates their enduring connections to Country, knowledge and stories. We pay our respects to Elders and Ancestors who watch over us and guide the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We honour the full diversity of human experience. We are committed to providing care that is neuroaffirming, culture-affirming, and gender- and sexuality-affirming, recognising that well-being is deeply shaped by identity, community, and lived experience. We respect and celebrate differences in neurodivergence, race, culture, language, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Our therapists work from frameworks that centre curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, rather than pathologising difference. We aim to create a therapeutic space where people can bring their whole selves—where the ways you think, feel, relate, and express yourself are met with understanding and genuine respect. We acknowledge the histories and systems that shape each person’s story, and we actively engage in reflective and ongoing learning to ensure our work remains inclusive and responsive. Our goal is to foster relationships that empower individuals, couples, and families to explore growth, authenticity, and connection—within themselves and within their communities.
