I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with over sixteen years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and couples. My clinical background encompasses private practice, hospital, and acute mental health environments, where I have provided treatment and psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, and psychosis.
I am particularly committed to assisting individuals coping with complex trauma and relationship/interpersonal challenges, whether in individual or couples therapy. And I particularly enjoy assisting people who seek to develop a deep sense of meaning, purpose and connection in their life, or who want to deepen their sense of self.
Perhaps you carry a sense of vulnerability, insecurity, or uncomfortableness about yourself or the world around you, or maybe in relation to the people in your life or aspects of your past. You may feel ‘triggered’ and often feel unstable, either emotionally or mentally. You may find yourself repeating destructive patterns in your relationships, where you may avoid interactions or find yourself people pleasing, or experience moments of neediness or emotional outbursts. Maybe you struggle to set personal boundaries to keep yourself safe, that could otherwise help you feel connected with others without feeling hurt or overwhelmed. Perhaps you feel tense, full of worry and racing thoughts, or panicky, feeling like something dreadful is always looming. Maybe you feel quite low or flat, possibly hopeless, and lacking motivation.
These feelings may come with a sense of being disconnected, like you’re in a dream or fog, finding it difficult to concentrate. Or perhaps you have experienced a recent event or change in your life, which has left you feeling ‘rocked’, unsettled, and confused; and despite your best efforts, you’re struggling to get back to the way your life once was.
If any of these feelings and experiences are relatable to you, you’re not alone; these are common reasons why people often seek therapy from me, in search for healing and change. I’m a dedicated therapist, passionate about supporting people toward health and wellbeing, through deepening their relationship with themselves and their experience. My therapeutic approach is calm, grounding, respectful, and nonjudgmental, yet purposeful, insightful and transformative. With the utmost care and compassion for one’s unique situation and experience, I strive to foster a collaborative and authentic therapeutic relationship sensitive to one’s needs and goals; aimed at upholding a safe, trusting and supportive space for healing, growth, and lasting wellbeing.
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- MBT (Mentalisation Based Treatment)
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
- EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy)
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
- DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy)
I am also a Board Approved Supervisor, available for supervision.
